About the Project
A lab worth seeing before you commit
The 7th floor research lab in Benedum Hall sits on O’Hara Street in Pittsburgh, supporting the kind of specialized, equipment-heavy work that prospective students and collaborators want to see for themselves before committing to a program or partnership.
Momentum 360 captured the lab in a full Matterport 3D scan, giving prospective students, faculty, and research partners a self-guided walk through the facility exactly as they’d experience it in person. It turns “what does the lab actually look like?” into a question they can answer for themselves, before ever scheduling a visit.

Why It Works
What the tour delivers
For a research lab, a 3D tour helps prospective students, faculty, and partners get a feel for the facility before an in-person visit ever happens.
01
More Confident Program Decisions
Prospective students can preview the exact lab space before committing to a program or campus visit.
02
Stronger Recruitment Marketing
Admissions and faculty teams can share a self-guided preview with out-of-town or online applicants.
03
A True Sense of the Facility
A walkable tour captures the layout and scale of the lab in a way photos alone can’t convey.
04
Easier Research Collaboration
Outside researchers and partners can preview the lab remotely before scheduling an in-person collaboration visit.
05
Always Open for a Look
The tour is available any hour, giving prospective students and partners a first look whenever they’re ready.
06
Scroll-Stopping Social Content
Shareable across social and the website, the tour gives the lab content that stands out from typical campus photography.
