We all hope one day there will be no diseases and the world will be a perfectly healthy place. But until then we should keep developing the health care industry and the latest technology is what can help. Virtual reality is among them.

This new approach to storytelling blurs the boundaries between the story and the viewer making him a central element of the movie. There has even appeared a new term – “cinematic VR” – a type of VR experience based on 360-degree videos filmed with a special camera. However, such films can also be made from scratch using 3D graphics, like this short movie about a shark attack.
Many companies have started embracing virtual technology to present their products with a twist. For example, Sony announced developing a “non-game virtual reality project” based on the TV show Breaking Bad and Disney offers a range of immersive entertainment based on their animation films.

Marketers today are in constant search of better ways to draw customer’s attention. People are getting bored of typical advertising and virtual reality is what can awe them. VR experience offers people a unique way to interact with the brand that will surely be remembered.
There is no one way how to use VR for advertising – each brand comes up with new solutions and creative ideas. Some, like Patron, use 360 videos to tell about the story of their company and product. Topshop, for example, offered their customers an entertainment dedicated to their summer collection. Such a flexible tool as virtual reality grants marketer’s endless opportunities to create and excite their customers.
In the automotive industry, VR has changed the processes for safety, design, and purchasing. VR’s realistic elements enable engineers and designers to analyze how a new vehicle would look and perform without building multiple models. Besides, the outside environment can also be virtually replicated for conducting safety trials on vehicles, without exerting the energy and time required to run the actual tests. Today, major brands, such as Hyundai, Ford, and Volvo are using VR for designing and sales. All the vehicles are made available to the customers who can now try everything from examining vehicle features to test driving. Therefore, with the advent of VR, the need for a dealership showroom will now be obsolete.
VR’s potential in the automotive industry is starting to unleash. First steps were taken several years ago and since then companies keep exploring what VR can bring them.
Creating a concept and designing a manufacturing line based on virtual data was an idea of Ford. Ford’s Immersive Vehicle Environment is aimed to combine forces of engineers from different countries to work on the design and simulate assembly work taking into account employee safety.
Volvo and Audi, on the other side, focused on user experience. The first one offered their customers an opportunity to take a virtual test drive using their smartphone, while Audi’s application allowed the customers to try various configurations of the car.

Today, VR provides a virtual, game-like environment for workers to practice using tools, without touching any hardware. For instance, consider the program created by Campfire Union for tower crane operators. This program employs cloud-based, multi-player technology allowing two operators in different locations to easily co-ordinate activities in the same virtual space. One immediate benefit of VR training is that it saves a lot of money, which otherwise has to be invested in materials for practice. Today, similar programs are available for other high-risk activities, such as forklift operation. Even lower-risk skilled trades, such as painting and welding are also using VR, where labors can refine their skills before they dive into the work.
Architects and designers also benefit from implementing VR into their work. With virtual reality, it is much easier to visualize the construction plan, check if there are any mistakes and share opinions with colleagues.
Real estate agents have the opportunity to tour properties in an instant to see if they are suitable for their clients, instead of having to attend numerous open houses. More experienced real estate professionals can use VR to mentor new hires and show them the ropes. For example, the real estate agent can show them how to stress the selling points of the property or help them build their negotiation skills.
Architecture is one of the major industries benefiting from VR. This is because VR has the potential to transform the way engineers design buildings, as it enables them to experiment with different aspects of a building, such as layout, material, and lighting. In addition to this, VR also allows customers to take virtual tours of these projects and understand how it looks and feels. Further, editing the architectural design before or during construction saves enormous money, prevents complicated re-works, and avoids miscommunication.

Virtual reality in sports is undoubtedly useful for both the spectators and the sportsmen so VR broadcasting and immersive training will definitely take their place in the industry.
Education must be interesting to be efficient. That is true for both children and adults. Immersive workshops and simulators contribute to educational process increasing students’ engagement and general efficiency. Virtual workshops will help children learn how laws of physics actually work, what the Solar system looks like and how to grow a plant.
Educational applications are not always tied up to the school environment. People of different professions use VR simulators to upgrade their skills. Besides traveling around the world, VR solutions also include visiting museums and galleries. The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The British Museum presented 360 video excursions to let people see the treasures they have. Seeing them on screen may encourage some to go there in real life.
VR enables guided tours to any place across the world, thereby allowing tourists to virtually visit the destination before they plan an actual trip. This particularly helps travelers to learn more about smaller and less-explored places. Besides, travel and hospitality firms also showcase their accommodations and destinations using interactive technology to enable potential guests to experience and explore the grounds before they book. The collaboration between Samsung Gear VR and Thomas Cook is one such successful example, which offers realistic presentation of all the Thomas Cook locations worldwide.
Travel agents can take a tour of accommodations to determine if they are recommendation-worthy, or go on an hour-long cruise around the Mediterranean before they book the real thing for their clients. Hotel managers can also utilize Virtual Reality training to teach their staff how to prepare the rooms and the proper way to interact with guests. One of the most significant benefits of Virtual Reality training is that it is soft-skill compatible, and soft skills are essential in the hospitality industry

The aerospace sector is becoming highly immersive as the VR technology enables collaboration during every step of building and maintaining processes. This collaborative technology supports better communication and improves understanding among employees working in different departments. Engineers, designers and manufacturers are now able to interact better and create quality products at a faster pace using visualization and product behavior testing. VR allows realistic visualization which enables a strong relationship between different departments, which promotes better understanding at every stage of designing and building.
