What is a Virtual Tour?

What is a virtual tour! It’s an inside look into your business that consumers can visually see prior to visiting. It’s a 360 degree look into your business that will set quite above your competitors. This a good tool to have. If there’s ever a question of what services you provide a consumer’s inside look inside will make the difference. We are talking about a Google 360 tour with street view technology. I am personally a Google researcher. I look into every business I go into for the most part. The ones that stood out are the ones who can give be that birds eye view. If I’m in the market for a new apartment a virtual Google tour that allows me a real inside view versus just a layout plan will give your apartment a boost on my list of places to visit first.

Examples

Same idea with medical offices for example, I want to see your business prior to me coming. I also use it so I can recognize where I am as well. Do you know how much people market their business and it comes off on paper as amazing only to be super disappointed in its aesthetics?! You need Momentum Virtual Tours in your marketing and business plan!

Who benefits from a virtual tour?

Restaurants
Real estate
Retail
Hospitality
Venues

And in case you were wondering these tours can be tailored to fit your budget. Big business and small businesses want to increase traffic to their site. An increase in traffic and better high quality Google thumbprint will increase your revenue! It will become more and more valuable to you as a business to have more and more people give a quality review. How you are perceived online before you can even gain a customer’s interest to come to your facility matters.

Let me give you another example! If you own a venue for example a wedding venue you are going to want a bride and groom to place you at the top of their list. Often time’s people are short on time and they want to make decisions a lot faster than they did years ago. Having a virtual tour can put them at ease that you would be the ideal venue of their dreams.
What you want is someone who comes in and meets with you to understand your business and your vision for what you want to put into the digital world! Sean Boyle is the owner of Momentum Virtual Tours and he has exactly what you’re looking for!

2020 is fast approaching and I keep hearing people talk about goal setting. One place to set goals is with your business! You need to be able to set the bar high and the start is with Momentum Virtual Tours!

Easy process?

Oh and I need to mention the process is easy as 1-2-3! Yes you are given a quote, schedule a tour so you can have all of the photography completed, and it’s ready to publish! Why Restaurants Need A Virtual Tour

November 27, 2019 in Blog

Welcome back to another Momentum 360 Blog!

In this week’s blog, learn about why restaurants need a virtual tour! Not next month, not next year, right now. If you’re in the restaurant business, take 5 minutes out of your day and read this. It just might make or break your business.

For those who don’t know, our co-owner Sean Boyle and his family used to own a restaurant and bar on South Street called “The Boyler Room”, pretty good name we have to say. That being said, we have a lot of experience in this niche and know exactly how to show off our virtual tours for maximum exposure and return on investment.

Showcase

First and foremost, restaurant owners owe it to their customers and to themselves to show off their lovely location! Momentum 360 uses a virtual tour supplier known as Matterport. Their amazing technology has given us an extremely useful way to give business owners an entire different glimpse of their place.

Think about it. If you’re a hungry customer in the area and come across two restaurants, which would you pick: the restaurant that has no pictures or videos of their place, or the restaurant that shows off their place with a virtual tour? We think you’d pick the latter. We did too.

Bad Content

Good Content

It’s very simple. If a business owner isn’t interested in showing off their place, more often than not it’s because they think their place looks low quality! It’s not completely their fault. Business owners are some of the busiest people in the world, sometimes they forget about upkeep of their fine establishment.

Even if they forget, we feel we have a need to remind them about how important it is to keep their place in the consumer’s minds. There’s absolutely no way this will happen if the place doesn’t have any content, or worse, looks terrible to begin with!

Whether you’re a small corner bar, a medium-sized restaurant or a franchise chain, it’s imperative to make sure that all bases are covered with a virtual tour.

If you’re lacking content in 2019, you’re losing. Simple as that. So go do yourself a favor and get a virtual tour and professional photography.

Remember, “if a picture is worth a thousand words, a virtual tour is worth a million.” – Sean Boyle

Digital Presence

If you’ve kept up with our blogs to date, you know that we talk about the importance of being on Google. When people find out about your business, they want to be amazed at the amount of content your place has. Google is the perfect platform to host and communicate all your business information. Not only can you post photos and videos, you can put your virtual tour on here as well!

Google has multiple platforms such as Google My Business, Google Street View, and Google Maps that tie a business together. Through these three main Google mediums, businesses now have a chance to show off their business better than ever.

However, Only 44% of business owners have ever claimed a Google My Business account! This is staggering because so much lost business is simply left to being lazy. Momentum 360 takes pride in our digital presence. This has been an enormous factor for our success. You can see from our previous blog and video with Momentum Digital, How to Setup a Google My Business Account.

We encourage all restaurant owners to have fun with their business and generate content that you can put online!

See what we did here with Views Venue. One of our owners Sean took a nice selfie with the owner Victoria. We posted this on our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and LinkedIn! Of course, we also posted this on our Google accounts.

So from one picture, we made over 6+ pieces of content! Not saying that everyone needs to follow our model, but it definitely helps to get more views on your Google platforms and social media mediums as well.

If you’re one of the 66% of business owners that don’t have a presence yet on Google, then please take our advice and make an account. It will only help, and it’s free!

Reservations for Couples

Here lies the most important reasons for getting a virtual tour….. Reservations. Need the perfect place and seat for your anniversary? Or how about a first date? We got you covered. Imagine looking at a restaurant through their virtual tour, being able to call the place from the tour, and selecting the exact seating arrangements you want. Take about visualization. With our virtual tour technology, we can make this possible.

Watch here as I screen recorded this process using Savona in Gulph Mills as an example.

Using the popular Matterport term that are known as mattertags, we can make this happen! What we normally do with restaurants is select a mattertag inside each section of the place, this way the future customer can take a look at the exact section they want, and then pick their desired table from there. This is something your parents talked about as being the “future.” They weren’t lying to you, it’s here.

The best part about it? It’s a unique experience to each and every individual. Everyone has different tastes and pleasures, so they will pick their table with their significant other in another manner than someone else will.

This way businesses can always appear fresh to the consumer without growing stale overtime. This is a troubling feature of businesses that are over 5+ years old. Most of the time, they get away from what made them great in the first place. We decided to fix that. Now with our Matterport virtual tours, we have the ability to create new business growth opportunities for the future. More than likely, you’ll be the first restaurant in your area to have these virtual tours! So date night is handled, go and enjoy time with your significant other.

Reservations for Groups

Similarly to our last section, large parties and events are perfectly suited for virtual tours. Sure, pictures and videos are nice, but how about a medium where you could see exactly how many people can fit into a space? That’s the ideal scenario. This way if you’re the lucky person planning the event, you can sleep well at night knowing your space is large enough to hold all your beloved friends and family.

As you can see from our visual walkthrough above, you can explore the restaurant section by section, knowing exactly where you should throw your event. We can also take little snippets of your tour and put them on your website as well. In the past, we’ve dealt with restaurants with as much as 4 event venue floors!

Instead of cramming everything into one place, we were able to break up the entire thing and chop it into four bits for each floor. This gave future event throwers a more organized way to view and book a venue. We even went into great detail as to estimate party size, preferred event type, even the best type of wine and food that complements the floor!

We take care of our clients because we want to see them be successful. It doesn’t just happen with shooting a virtual tour, people need to have a way to view it in the proper manner on their phone or tablet.

Regardless of what type of event your restaurant specializes in, make sure your future customers book it using a virtual tour! If you can make sure that clients are navigating your tour properly and aren’t getting overwhelmed with the size of your establishment, you’ll be in for a real treat when you start noticing more and more events being thrown at your place!

More Business Insight

More often than not, before you set foot into a business you look it up first. In fact, 70-80% of people research a restaurant online before visiting.

Why do we do this?

Is it to look up your restaurant hours? Perhaps.

To see what kind of specials they’re offering on Thanksgiving? Sure.

Make sure you find that special new holiday beer you’ve been waiting for? Of course!

What we’re saying is that we do this to become comfortable with the restaurant before visiting If we don’t see any pictures or content for a business, more times than not we’ll search for a different business.

I mean ask yourself, when have you ever gone to a business without it having any pictures of it? Almost never right?

So if you’re a business owner, why would you expect your customers to do the same when you know in the back of your head they won’t visit based off of this very factor!

But a virtual tour is something that exceeds all expectations. Most people are thinking a few pictures and maybe a video, but here you are with a virtual tour that encompasses your entire restaurant.

Not to mention that virtual tour is something that no one is using for restaurants! Your future customers are going to see this virtual tour of your place and become completely comfortable with it. Hell, they could probably even give you a tour of your own since they know it so well!

It’s insulting to your customers to try to play ignorant to the fact that business photos don’t matter. It’s going to be 2020 in a little over a month, so what’s your excuse? It takes about 20 seconds to post a photo to your social platforms and Google My Business account.

Here is a helpful blog we did a few months ago talking about how to optimize your Google My Business and provide valuable content there. If you’re one of those businesses that we just talked about, it’s time to make a switch.

If you customers don’t feel comfortable while learning about your business, they simply won’t go there. Don’t be that business. Make them comfortable!

Reviews

This means everything. If your business doesn’t have good reviews, you’re dead in the water. Look from our image above, which review would appear better for your business? The other with ⅖ stars, complaining about the business and such, or the one with 5 stars and loving the business? The 5 stars for sure!

If you don’t have at least 4 stars out of 5, consider yourself now known as a “bad business” in the digital world. With our virtual tours, we help get your reviews to improve, and your overall rating to go up. `

So, restaurant owners, are you convinced now? If not, re-read the blog. When you’re sold on the power of virtual tours for your establishment, we’d love to hear from you. We’ll optimize your tour to start becoming a customer-generation machine. Like we mentioned before, we preach a digital presence because that’s what the world is now. Everyone is doing the same thing…expect using a virtual tour. Now is your time to stand out from the competition and take a chance to be different. To be futuristic, to get with the times.

So…Why Go With Us?

Top 8 Industries That Need A Virtual Tour

November 25, 2019 in Blog
top 8 industries that need a virtual tour

Welcome back to another Momentum 360 Blog!

In this week’s blog, learn about the TOP 8 Industries that need a virtual tour! If your industry is listed, please consider it, you don’t want to miss out on the gigantic traffic and rankings boost. Let’s dive in!

We squandered the internet to find the “Top 8 Industries That Need A Virtual Tour.”

Here’s our list in order from highest necessity to least:

top 8 industries that need a virtual tour

Real Estate

Was this really a surprise?

Real estate is the industry that invented what we now know as virtual tours.

RE claims the top spot simply because of the amazing benefits and value that it’s given sellers for their homes. Sellers are now getting an all-time high sales price on their house, mostly due to these virtual tours. Not only do these show off the homes in an exquisite manner, but now more people can see home for sale, anytime from any place. This can be incredibly helpful when viewing multiple places to save time and money.

For example, if a potential home buyer lives in Germany but wants to live in Philadelphia, they can just simply check out the virtual tour of the place! This way, sellers can attract more people that want their home, and can raise the buying price from all of the competition. Now that’s a great reason why this industry needs a virtual tour. Here are some quick stats on real estate that shows off the value that these tours provide:

  • 41% of home buyers found interactive maps very useful, while 40% felt the same about virtual tours
  • Visitors to their website spend 3x – 6x more time engaging with property listings that offer a Matterport immersive 3D experience.
  • Properties with Matterport tours receive 49% more qualified leads.
  • Homes sell an average of 10 days faster and for $50,100 more than comparable homes thanks to Matterport 3D walkthroughs, advanced presentation technology, and great customer service

You can’t argue with those stats. The world is becoming more and more digital everyday, so this is why virtual tours are crushing in this space. As we talk about other industries later on in the blog, you’ll see that real estate is the most saturated industry.

This is a good thing!

It means that there is a lot of potential for other industries to benefit from the same product. After all, industries in the virtual tour space are pretty much “real estate” if you think about it. Every one of our clients has a physical location, regardless if it’s commercial, retail or any other form of real estate.

Nonetheless, virtual tours are a gigantic need for real estate. If you’re a broker or agent in the Philadelphia area, consider getting a virtual tour for your property.

Retail

Whether it’s a Brick and mortar, shopping mall, or just your local boutique, retail is an exceptional industry for virtual tours to shine!

Since more stores are on social media and rely heavily on their Google My Business profile, it’s imperative that you show off your place anyway you can.

Not only for your customers’ viewing pleasure and social presence, but for Google to help rank you better!

Let’s say you’re a local boutique in Philadelphia trying to rank for the keyword “boutique in Philadelphia.” Your competitor and you are neck and neck in the rankings. You both post to social media three times a day, write a weekly blog, and send out an updated website catalog to your email subs! What more can you do to stand out?

A virtual tour! This is especially important in retail.

You will have effectively:

  • Given potential customers a unique way to view your business
  • Given Google a valuable piece of content to help increase your ranking
  • Offered customers another cool medium to buy clothes from!

Wait a few weeks, and you should notice that since more people are checking out your virtual tour and business, you’ll be ahead of your competitors!

Many small retail businesses experience the problem of not standing out from their competition. If you’re in the retail space, consider getting a tour of your shop. Your past, present, and future customers will love it, and so will Google!

Restaurants

Next up, we have the glorious industry of restaurants! Did you hear that? Sorry…it was just our stomachs growling.

If you’ve ever tried to look up a restaurant in your area on Google, more than likely you’ll be sent to their Google My Business profile. From there, you can check out their reviews, pictures, and other features.

But what if you have a large party? Could they accommodate you? Will your large group be comfortable at your table? All these questions can be answered with virtual tours.

How cool would it be to look inside the restaurant itself directly from your smartphone. You could check out the seating and choose your ideal table! You wouldn’t even have to call the restaurant beforehand. It’s seamless…. And virtual tours make this possible. Also, with the help from our trusted virtual tour partner Matterport, we can post your virtual tour straight to your Google My Business account!

It’s the perfect addition to your current Google My Business strategy. Momentum 360 posts a new photo to our account everyday, and you should too. If you have a virtual tour to boot, this will slowly but surely snowball and start piling up views!

According to Google, “90% of customers are more likely to visit a business that has added photos or videos to their Google listing.”

So, if you’re a restaurant, why wouldn’t you want to show off your fine establishment? If your argument is that you “already have pictures and videos of your business”, then you’re missing our point.

Virtual tours for restaurants are new pieces of technology that literally no one is tapping into yet for this niche. If you get there first for your type of restaurant and location, you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise when new business comes flocking your way.

top 8 industries that need a virtual tour

Hospitality

Wedding crashers season? Well, maybe.

If you’ve ever thrown an event, chances are you want a pretty sweet venue to hold it in rather than your corner bar that was built in 1850, right?

Similarly to restaurants using virtual tour technology, hospitality is popular as well.

Say you are throwing a wedding that you want to make sure no one crashes. You’ll even have security there. You’d want to check out the place and make sure there aren’t that many places to enter right?

Well with these virtual tours, you can make that happen! Matterport also has these neat little tags called “mattertags” that allow you to label certain areas of your space. If you’re thinking of your consumer, you could label the entrances in your place and say something like, “Perfect for security purposes to make sure no one crashes your big day.”

How awesome is that?? This ensures your safety and makes you warm and fuzzy with the event venue. You trust them without even having to pick up the phone and speak to their event coordinator.

Regardless of what type of events you host, it’s essential to grab a virtual tour for your space to label it and make your future guests comfortable with your place.

According to our hospitality clients:

  • 90% stated that Matterport helps them build a stronger brand in the marketplace.
  • 83% are more competitive because of Matterport.
  • 74% win more business because of Matterport.

What are you waiting for? You know it’s a necessity for hospitality, so make sure you get a virtual tour as soon as possible.

top 8 industries that need a virtual tour

Healthcare

Some of you might be surprised by this, but yes, healthcare is another essential industry to have a virtual tour. Let us grab our stethoscope for this one.

From the previous stats we just shared, we know that it’s important to stand out from the competition and make your future customers comfortable with your place.

So why doesn’t your local hospital/doctor’s office/medical home have one?

If you’re putting a family member in a home, wouldn’t you want to see exactly what the place looks like, in and out? Of course you would. You want the best for them and only the best. Anything less in unacceptable.

So then a virtual tour makes perfect sense. You can choose which room they’re in, if they have a pool and gym, you can even see the weekly board meal to find out what they’ll be eating!

Chicken Masala on Thursdays? Hell, I’d move in too!

It’s all about the experience. The same goes for doctor’s offices … do you want your kids going to some shady office with no reviews, or would you rather go to a doctor’s office with a good review and a virtual tour showing you the large waiting room (great magazine selection too), and all other patient rooms as well? We think you’d pick the latter.

So to all those in healthcare, no matter the size of your office, your patients care about what your place looks like. Get a virtual tour and make us feel more comfortable. That’s just what the doctor ordered.

top 8 industries that need a virtual tour

Automotive

Need to replace your lemon? Great! A virtual tour will ensure you pick the car you need.

How you might ask?

Think of the cars you’ve bought in the past. You probably researched a ton before you came into a dealership. You were also considering between this model or that. After many hours of research, you’ve finally found your car of choice. It’s time to select a dealership that offers that car.

Now if you were a consumer, which dealership would you go with?

Dealership A

  • Doesn’t have many reviews on Google
  • Doesn’t have many pictures of their dealership
  • Only has boring stock photos of the car you want

Dealership B

  • Has multiple 5-star reviews
  • Offers a virtual tour that shows you the car you want in glistening 4K resolution
  • Offers insightful information on the car via Mattertags

It’s a no brainer, Dealership B gets the business.

You see your ideal car in a lovely 360 view, you can check out every single feature that you read about. You could even go ahead and say, “Hey, yeah that red one from your virtual tour, I’ll take that one.” Again, without ever having to talk to any sales rep! These cars sell themselves practically with a virtual tour. There’s no limit to what these virtual tours can do.

If you’re in the automotive space, consider getting one for your dealership. Here’s a KIA dealership we shot in Allentown, check it out!

Sports

If you’ve ever been to a professional sporting event, you know that the venue makes all the difference. It’s a totally different experience if you’re at your local stadium that looks like it’s going to collapse any second, or at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Totally different experience, no matter how good your team is. If you have something worth showing off, then you want to show it off. Fortunately, old sporting venues are pretty much updated to 2019, so they all look fairly decent.

Similarly to the restaurant example, how cool would it be to take a virtual tour of a sporting venue and pick the exact seats you want?? You even have the option to click on the section and buy your preferred seats right then and there. Now that’s customer experience!

Although hardly any sporting venues have capitalized on a virtual tour yet, we believe this will be prevalent in the future and just like real estate, every venue will have them.

The reason why most stadiums don’t have a tour yet is simply a time issue. These virtual tours take about 1-2 hours to shoot a 2,000 square foot property. Imagine shooting Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia which is 1.15 million square feet! If you divide that by 2,000, that’s roughly 575 hours that it’ll take to complete the virtual tour. Which if you math whizzes out there are already calculating it, that’s just under 24 days. Although Rome wasn’t built in a day, so this isn’t that much time.

As technology comes along, we’re sure that there will be a way to cut down on the amount of time it takes for these virtual tours to be shot.

But hey, Momentum 360 is willing to shoot, so why wait?

Education

Remember when you were a senior in highschool and looking for a college to attend?

*Cue the nostalgia*

We do too!

But do you also remember how much of an annoyance it was to walk the entire campus? Some schools make you take their shuttle bus just because of how big the campus is. Even more, some people drove hours upon hours to see the campus.

What we’re saying is, it’s a big hassle when it doesn’t need to be. What if you could take a virtual tour of the campus from your home, even check out the buildings where you would have class? That would be so helpful! I wish that my school had that.

It would change the way people check out colleges. Pretty soon, if you don’t have a virtual tour of your college, you’re considered “out of touch with technology” or “stuck in the past.”

Unfortunately, just like professional sporting events, these virtual tours would take as much if not more time to shoot.

Regardless of the time, here are some key stats we found out about colleges and virtual tours:

  • Students are 60% more likely to email a college that includes a Matterport 3D Showcase.
  • Students are 95% more likely to call a school that includes a Matterport 3D Showcase.

These are some incredible numbers! Without a virtual tour, your college could become obsolete. So make sure you make some room in your budget for one later down the road.

This ends our list of the Top 8 industries that need a virtual tour! Thanks so much for reading. If you enjoyed this blog, comment and share it on social media! Share buttons. We’d love to start a conversation with you.

Our competitors RealTView start their tour at $450, and ultimately it’ll go up from there. We start charging at $300, so you’ll automatically save at least $150 by going with us!

So…Why Go With Us?

Regardless of the industry, we have your back. We have experience in every single industry and customize your virtual tour to beat your competitors and enhance your customer experience.  How To Use A Virtual Tour?

Virtual Tour marketing services

(6 min read)

Welcome back to another Momentum Monday!

In this week’s blog, learn how to properly use a virtual tour and explore all of the full capabilities. Let’s dive in!

Types of Virtual Tour Cameras

Before we discuss how to use these virtual tours, we should first talk about the many different ways that they’re captured. Matterport, a virtual tour hosting platform, uses an exciting variety of different cameras! Now, depending on each camera, the virtual tour will look different.

We use Matterport as our virtual tour provider. They offer many different cameras, as well as a stellar hosting platform that allows us to post to Google and many other sites straight from our account!

Without Matterport, it would be a lot harder to shoot these tours. Matterport’s system makes shooting virtual tours very simple. Check out their superior cameras and virtual tour equipment on their website!

The golden standard of virtual tours. This is the camera that Momentum 360 utilizes. The Pro2 utilizes a tripod, and comes with 4k capability as well as floor plans and the Matterpak. Starting at $3,395, there’s a reason this camera is priced accordingly. It also shoots within 1%, meaning it is the 2nd most accurate virtual tour camera on the market. If you’re a seasoned virtual tour photographer, you should consider picking up the Pro2.

3D Virtual Tours

Leica BLK360

This is the holy grail of virtual tours. If you thought the Pro2 was good, then wait until you hear about Leica. Starting at $18,000, yes you read that right, this camera shoots with 0.01% accuracy, making it the most accurate virtual tour camera in the world. It is not even close. The Leica is great for scanning large and outdoors spaces, as well as projects that require the high accuracy. If you’re an expert virtual tour provider shooting high-level virtual tours, then you might want to pick up the Lecia, but at a steep cost, so be aware.

Now that we’ve covered all the virtual tour cameras that Matterport offers, it’s time to dig deep into the experience and how to properly use virtual tours!

Virtual Tours

Desktop

Using a virtual tour on a desktop is different than using it on a mobile device. It can seem pretty easy at first, but if you follow this guide it’ll make your experience much better.

  1. Click the Play Button

Virtual Tour

When your virtual tour loads, you’ll be prompted to the virtual tour’s name, along with an option to explore the 3D space. There’s a sleek background that previews the business as well. It’s a very nice touch by Matterport. When you’re ready to jump in, click the play button!

2. Click “View Fullscreen”

Virtual Tour Small Businesses

As soon as the virtual tour loads, it’ll show a brief dollhouse view, then the view will zoom to the starting point of the tour. Try not to be overwhelmed, we’ll make it easier to view these tours. Since you’re on desktop, you have the option to view the entire tour in fullscreen. This is better than just viewing it by default, as you’re able to see all the neat features inside the tour that you may have missed if you didn’t press full screen. Click the “View Fullscreen” option on your bottom right.

3. Click “View Floorplan”

Matterport Virtual Tours

So now you’re inside the property, but you don’t know if this is the true starting point, or better yet, the starting point that you want to start at! Click “View Floorplan”, this will allow you to get a birds-eye view of the entire place. You can truly see how large, or small, the building is from this view. It’s incredible that the cameras can map out the entire space like this!

4. Click “View Dollhouse”

Google Virtual Tours

Taking this one step further, if you select “View Dollhouse”, you’ll be able to see a side-view of the property and how many floors there are. This is great if you work in the real estate or construction business. It provides tremendous insight into how the building looks, with width and height generally speaking. Whether you’re building a space or tearing it down, this view does a great job at showing you the whole place in its entirety.

5. Get Familiar with Space

Matterport Virtual Tour

From this view, you’ll be able to figure out where exactly you want to start checking out the tour. Use your cursor to get familiar with the space and see all the neat features that this view provides. Drag your way to your desired spot and then simply click once to get back inside the property.

6. Happy Exploring!

Virtual Tours for Businesses

Finally, we’re here! Go crazy. This is when you can explore the entire place at your leisure. Now that you’re using the full screen view, it makes it so much easier to see the place as if you were actually there in person! It’s a fascinating feature that Matterport has.

Tap the screen to virtually walk-through the property and see everything that it has to offer. Using your two fingers on your cursor, you can actually zoom in on objects. Desktop’s zoom isn’t that impressive, it benefits more so in the mobile experience.

7. Mattertags

Virtual tour small businesses

Now if you go through the tour and notice these little dots on your screen, don’t be alarmed, they’re there for a reason. These are called “Mattertags.” Mattertags allow virtual tour users to add their tags to a property, to give more context to the viewer checking out their space.

A cool little feature of these mattertags is that you can embed YouTube videos and website URLs inside of them. So if you have any content that you want to show off, now is the time to use it! These mattertags somewhat help local SEO too, we just haven’t figured out how much yet.

Some interesting Matterport stats that we found with mattertags:

  • Online, Houses with Mattertags receive 40% more interest than houses without.
  • Viewers will spend 300% more time viewing a listing with a virtual tour than one without
  • Virtual Tours receive over 9 Million hits per day worldwide (2018) up from 4 Million in 2014

8. Slideshow

360 Virtual Tours

Now if you don’t feel like clicking your cursor each virtually step you take, you can click the play button inside the tour that simply reads “play.” This will take you on a virtual tour …of the virtual tour.

Mind blown? Yep, us too.

Virtual Tour Agency

Mobile

When comparing virtual tour experiences, mobile virtual tours are more convenient than desktop. In our opinion, we make it a priority to make the mobile experience just as great as the desktop.

Why?

Because 60% of Google searches come from mobile devices. If our experience on mobile sucks, then we’ll be missing out on the majority of potential business!

From a consumer perspective, there are many ways to explore virtual tours to their full capability. Let’s check out the best way to view virtual tours on mobile devices.

  1. Click the Play Button

Virtual Tours near me

Just like desktop, when you load the virtual tour, you’ll see a background image along with a play button to the business. It’ll also give a message saying, “Presented by (insert your virtual tour company). Very nice touch again by Matterport we must say. It makes virtual tour companies like us feel good when it says that it’s presented by Momentum 360, it makes the tour look more professional. Anyway, just like desktop, press the play button.

2. Click “Open Highlights”

Virtual Tours Philadelphia

On mobile, you’ll already have a limited view, so make sure you take some time to check out the main points of the tour. You do this by clicking the ^ icon arrow on the bottom left. This will give a brief slideshow of the different rooms inside the virtual tour. By checking out these highlights, it makes using the virtual tour a lot easier on mobile. So get comfortable, grab a snack, and swipe through the different key elements on the virtual tour.

3. Pick Starting Point

Google Virtual Tours

From the highlights page, you can actually click on the image and start your tour from there. This is great because it creates a unique experience each and every time a consumer views a virtual tour. Not every view of a virtual tour will be the same. So once you take some time to familiarize yourself with the property, click on a room that interests you and start viewing it from there!

Here are a few more interest Matterport stats we found!

  • Hotel Virtual Tours increase online bookings by up to 85%
  • Virtual tours offers more features than any other Virtual Tour on the market !
  • Captured with a top of the line HD DSLR Camera and advanced post processing techniques.

4. Happy Exploring!

Matterport Virtual Tour

Just like the desktop view, it’s time to enjoy the virtual tour! Click everywhere and anywhere, go crazy. Personally, we like to click and follow a general path throughout the property, and then go into some of the small areas that the property has to offer. However, to his and her their own. So check out the virtual tour anyway you’d like!

5. Mattertags

VR Tours

Just like desktop, mobile also offers mattertags that give more insight into the property. These are pretty much the same as on desktop, so just click on the tags and see what pops up! If anything, the mattertags are more precise on where they’re pointing to. If the mattertag is trying to point out something small in particular, we believe it’s easier to view this on mobile. Again, these tags can include other links, videos, etc. The possibilities are endless, so make sure you check out all the tags inside of the virtual tour.

6. Zoom

Unlike desktop, mobile offers a better zoom capability for the entire tour. If you compare desktop to mobile, you’ll be able to zoom in much more on mobile than desktop. So if you’re using a virtual tour for your shop, make sure your camera can zoom in accordingly. Think about it, if you’re a retail store, why wouldn’t you want customers to check out absolutely every single one of your items? That’s the whole point of the tour in the first place!

How Much Do Virtual Tours Cost?

November 15, 2019 in Blog

(5 min read)

Welcome back to another Momentum Monday!

In this week’s blog, learn about virtual tour pricing and how much it really costs to get a virtual tour for your business. Let’s dive in!

There’s a whole lot of speculation in the digital world about the popular question, “How much do virtual tours cost?”

The answer? Well…it’s really quite easy to find out!

Pay Once – Keep Forever

Most virtual tours cost way too much, we fixed that. Only pay a one-time fee for your virtual tour and optimizations. There are no monthly or yearly recurring fees.

On top of this, our virtual tours offer a bundle of goodies in every single package. Not only do we provide virtual tours, we offer photography, video, drone footage and optimization for your site!

Virtual Tour costs start at $400 + 10% of your square footage and includes:

  • Posting to your Google My Business, Google Street View, Website, and Social Media.

Some premium features include:

  • Matterport software, the best virtual tour software in the world.
  • Hosting on Matterport’s premium cloud.
  • Unlimited “Mattertags” that help show off your business.
  • Local SEO to help your business get noticed on Google.
  • Repeat/multiple shoots to keep up with your seasonal changes and updated changes to your shop.

You can calculate your virtual tour cost here!

Many companies use a set price, some use square footage, and some use different packages. There are many ways to price these virtual tours.

The problem that many small-businesses face is finding a happy medium between pricing and services. This can often confuse them as well as the tour agency itself!

virtual tours for small businesses

If you’re confused to this technology, don’t worry. We’ll answer all of your questions and make you feel more comfortable with this technology. You’re not alone. Virtual tours are still recently new, so it’s our job to properly inform society on how much do virtual tours cost.

Here at Momentum 360, we aim to provide quality and value, not revenue for us! So many business owners think that charging extremely high-priced virtual tours is the ticket to a successful agency. They’re wrong, and they will always be.

Do Virtual Tours Actually Work?

We wouldn’t be talking about them if they didn’t. In the over 50+ businesses we’ve shot, we have almost 250,000 impressions and 150,000 website visits. That’s an average 4,200 impressions and 2,500 website visits per client!

matterport virtual tours

More eyeballs, more business. That’s the equation that we’ve used with our virtual tours to generate value for our clients. As you can see, we’ve generated a lot of value from these tours!

Where else are you going to get this kind of ROI? Google Ads? Possibly. But this piece of content is better targeted to suit people that genuinely have an interest in the business. This is the best marketing investment you can make in 2019.

So if you’re reading this in 2019, you better believe that this will be something that every business has in the next 5 years, so make sure to get one now.

I’ll discuss other aspects of why you should get a virtual tour in 2020, but for now I’ll just let the number speak from themselves. Without a virtual tour, consumers won’t be as engaged as they would be with one. Virtual tours command a presence that only real estate niches seem to understand.

How cool would it be to type in “date restaurants in Philadelphia” into Google, have a restaurant pop up, and see a virtual tour of the exact seat and table you’d like to sit at?

Imagine, you and your significant other are having trouble finding a place to eat at. You come across this one restaurant that not only ranks at the top of Google and has excellent reviews,  but you it has a virtual tour that allows you to check out the place a bit more!

On top of that, you can literally sort through each table, picking the perfect setting for you and your date.

It’s an individualized experience every time, making the consumer feel all warm and fuzzy with your business. Virtual tours make this happen.

How Are Virtual Tours Shot?

Our virtual tours are shot on a camera from Matterport. Matterport has a variety of hand-held and tripod cameras that make crystal clear tours every time. Momentum 360 uses the Pro2 3D Camera, which stands on a tripod and is moved each scan.

google virtual tours

We’ve seen tremendous success with this camera. This is largely due to the fact that the tripod holds it still for the perfect shot, while we can adjust the height for the average person to see!

This way, we won’t have to risk human error for some of the smaller, handheld cameras that Matterport offers. After we’re finished shooting the place, the virtual tour is automatically sent to the Matterport cloud to render.

The whole rendering process takes around 1-2 hours.

First, the virtual tour has to upload to Matterport’s cloud and stitch all of the scans together. From here, it gives us a viewable preview link where we can edit and add features to jazz up the tour.

After rendering is finished, we implement Mattertags into the tour for more information about the business and SEO. These mattertags are bits of information about the business. We can embed YouTube videos, websites, anything! This helps with keywords and ranking on Google at a local level.

Do They Improve SEO?

In our last blog that you can view here, we discuss a case study we did with SOUTH, a jazz bar and restaurant in Philadelphia. Just from their virtual tour, we were able to help them rank for very competitive terms such as “Jazz bar in Philadelphia” and “Jazz in Philadelphia.”

To help improve the SEO, we simply embed keywords into the Mattertags and use a simply backlinking strategy to the company website and other reputable websites. For example, we linked out to VisitPhilly, Philly Magazine, and Daily News. These three reputable sources in Philadelphia have a high DA (Domain Authority) and PA (Page Authority)

To this day, SOUTH’s virtual tour has generated:

  • Over 28,000 Impressions
  • Over 24,000 Website Visits
  • Over 15,000 Unique Visitors
  • Over 1,600 Monthly Views

Google cares about a lot of things, you can check out this blog to learn more about what Google values in terms of ranking!

Virtual tours include both, can your content say the same?

If your context only checks one of the two boxes, or neither of them, then it’s time to start looking at a virtual tour to help drive more traffic to your site! All we have to do is publish this lovely piece of content, Google does the rest.

If you ask where SOUTH currently ranks, they’re still at the top of Google on the first page. They’ve made an investment with the virtual tour, and now they’re reaping the benefits.

Ultimately, Why Get A Virtual Tour?

Don’t just take it from me, take it from two happy clients that we literally just worked with last week!

Laura Kao, Owner of Room244 says:

Working with Sean was quick and easy! He was flexible with scheduling and within 1hr he was done filming. My virtual tour is a great asset for me to have for my clients who have been referencing it often. A job well done!.”

Andrew Domanski, Owner of The Little Gallery says:

Momentum 360 just created a virtual tour of The Little Gallery for me. Sean, Huy and the entire team were great and helped this novice immensely. The final result is well beyond my expectations, and everyone that I’ve shown it to has said how fantastic it is. It’s out there on Google, my website and social media and I’m sure it will bring inquiries and customers into the Gallery. I consider this to have been money very well spent. Thank you very much. “

These two happy customers are already noticing the benefits of their virtual tour, and it’s only been a week! Hopefully, these two testimonials will convince you of the quality work that Momentum provides. We’ll talk about other key benefits in the blog too. Like how we only charge a one-time fee and allow you to keep the virtual tour forever!

In addition, all of our team members are Google Trusted Photographers. This means we have exclusive rights with Google to help provide extra value to our clients.

Why is this Important?

Due to Google’s recent changes, now anyone with a camera can come and shoot your virtual tour. This has led to a lot of terrible production and has given virtual tours a bad reputation. Fortunately, our highly-talented team of Google Trusted Photographers make the process easy, leaving you with a premium virtual tour that’ll start bringing in more business.

Just a quick tip, anyone can simply slap a Google Trusted Photographer badge on their website/social media and call themselves a Google Trusted Photographer. To make sure that person is legit, simply go to their directory and search for them. You’ll see our team members Sean, James and Austin there! Say hi guys!

Doing some quick homework will pay dividends in the long run. Without doing homework on a potential photographer, you’ll be charged 10x more, be left with a terrible virtual tour, and won’t get anymore business because of it! Please do research, it literally takes 3 minutes. (Yes, we timed it)

It’s the least our team can do to help save you a couple bucks. We know how hard you work, so why not get a quality product that reflects that?

More Bang For Your Buck

Our Founder, Mac Frederick, actually worked at Google for several years. During his time at the search engine powerhouse, he learned how to rank small businesses on the first page of Google.

One of the best forms of content to accomplish this?

Virtual tours!

Thus, he helped start his own full-service digital marketing agency, Momentum Digital. With the help of his soon-to-be partner and Google Trusted Photographer Sean Boyle, they helped established Momentum 360, a full-service virtual tour agency.

These two brainstormed and thus created a process to make virtual tours help rank small businesses higher on Google! With our great partners at Matterport, they make it so much easier.

To be frank, most virtual tours aren’t optimized properly. They lack local seo, simple tactics and many other tricks of the trade that we utilize to achieve higher rankings.

Lower prices, higher quality, it’s a slam dunk. Our low virtual tours cost can only be attributed to help solve the client’s problems. This has been, and will be, the motto we carry throughout our tenure in business.

So…Why Go With Us?

Momentum 360 has been the leading-virtual tour provider in Philadelphia since our inception. Why? Because we deliver a top-quality product at a reasonable price. We take pride in helping small-businesses rise and get more traction. We lived through the struggle that most business owners go through on a daily basis, that’s why we get along with them so well.

Virtual Tours for Small Businesses

(7 min read)

In this week’s blog, learn about Virtual Tours for Small Businesses to answer the following most Frequently Asked Questions.

Watch this video for more information about Virtual Tours for Small Businesses.

360 virtual tours for devices

  • What is a Virtual Tour?
  • What are common uses for Virtual Tours?
  • What are the main benefits for small businesses using Virtual Tours?
  • Will a Virtual Tour help my business rank higher on Google?
  • How do Virtual Tours work?
  • Why should my business get a virtual tour?

Are you a small business owner? If so, listen up as we’re going to explain how a Virtual Tour can help grow your business.

What’s a Virtual Tour?

Simply put, it’s a visual 3D representation of the inside of your business, allowing customers a 360° walk-through experience.

Here are some Virtual Tour examples on our portfolio page. Click the tour you want to view then click the play button.

What are Common Uses for a Virtual Tour?

3D Virtual Experiences are most commonly used for brick-and-mortar or retail businesses, like restaurants or venues, to accurately and vividly showcase their internal commercial space to customers.

Most businesses use virtual tours for the following reasons:

  • Showcase their beautiful interior space to potential customers
  • Add virtual content to their Google My Business
  • Publish a 360° view to their Google Maps Page
  • Add to their website and social media
  • Outrank and outperform their competition

These are very common and popular for restaurants as you can see this virtual tour of South Jazz & Kitchen in Philadelphia.

What are the main benefits for small businesses using Virtual Tours?

Virtual tours are still rather uncommon and unknown within the small business community. However, many businesses using Virtual Tours have realized a few of the main benefits, even to their bottom line.

  • Ranking higher in Google local search results
  • Increasing visibility on their Google Page & Website
  • Developing trust and familiarity with potential customers
  • Overall increase in consumer demand and traffic
  • Better Customer Reviews & Ratings

According to LCP 360, younger website visitors ages 18-34 are staying on website 5-10x longer if they have a virtual tour experience.

This brilliant piece of content allows potential prospects to virtually take a tour of your work space. Whether that’d be your brick and mortar store or a multiple-floor office building, viewers can “walk-through” your space and see what it has to offer!

Other benefits include:

  • Increased rankings on Google
  • More calls to your business
  • More visits to your website

As you can imagine, this is great for real estate. But what about all other niches in the small business world? Well, that’s what we wanted to find out.

Case Study Example:

We started with restaurants in Philadelphia. The case study that we’ll discuss in this blog is none other than the great jazz bar, SOUTH, mentioned above.

virtual tours

We first completed their virtual tour in 2017, and they’ve been loving it ever since. To this day, SOUTH is still benefiting from the content and SEO this virtual tour offers.

One of SOUTH’s problems at first was that they weren’t ranking for any prominent keywords such as “jazz bar philadelphia” or “jazz in philadelphia.”

Since completion in January 2018, this virtual tour has accumulated the following reach and awareness (see screenshot below).

Total = 28,100+ Impressions

Visits = 23,100+ People

virtual tours for small businesses

So now you have proof that both businesses and customers appreciate virtual tours, but does it help with SEO you might ask?

Will a Virtual Tour help my business rank higher on Google?

Many business owners ask us, ”How does having a virtual tour increase my rank in Google?”

First off, great question! Secondly, SEO is very complex, but Local Search isn’t nearly as complex as trying to compete with companies all over the world.

Local SEO focuses on a couple key ingredients that you can read in a previously written Monday Monday article, “Top 6 Local SEO Tips for Small Businesses”.

To answer your question, we have witnessed these 3 key reasons that businesses rank 10-20% higher with a Google Virtual Tour on their Google Maps (Google My Business) listing in overall search visibility and traffic ….

  1. You’re actively using and participating in what Google cares about
  1. Google is trying to compete more with Facebook, Instagram, Yelp and countless others. By continually increasing their service offerings and product integrations they believe they can regain market share and ultimately make more money — therefore they want people using their updates product features.
  • Virtual Tours provide rich content to engage viewers

  1. Google cares about showing customers helpful and relevant information, not only text based, but also visually with images and video. The virtual tour feature has existed for over 6 years now, but is only recently being featured and promoted by Google.
  • Get A Leg-Up on the Competition

  1. The more businesses actively use all of Google’s products and features the better. The feature is actively recognized on Google maps and is easy to embed via Google 360° imagery or Matterport software. The more robust your Google Maps listing, the more relevant and accurate the representation of your business is on Google.

You will of course need a completed and optimized Google My Business Page along with adding the Virtual Tour. If you need help just contact us via email or comment in the blog below!

Example & Case Study (continued)

South Jazz & Kitchen

google virtual tours

As you can see from this Google search, SOUTH now ranks 1st for the phrase “jazz bar Philadelphia,” which gets over 500 searches every month! So, we were able to get SOUTH a potential monthly increase of 500+ customers, just from the virtual tour!

For all this success, we have to thank our virtual tour partners at Matterport. Matterport is an all-inclusive virtual tour company that provides hosting and cameras to third-party companies like us. This platform allows us to embed keywords and truly help with local SEO.

To strategically place these keywords inside of the virtual tours, we use what Matterport refers to as “mattertags.” These mattertags as seen above are neat little tools that guide tour viewers through each location.

We utilize these mattertags by attaching prominent keywords all along the virtual tour to ensure Google’s algorithm will help it rank. For SOUTH’s tour, we included videos, articles, keywords, any content that we could fit in to add value. The great thing about mattertags is that it links out to websites!

Not only did we implement a keyword strategy for their virtual tour, but a backlinking strategy to boot. We used these local SEO tactics that helped grow SOUTH’s tour.

After we made these changes to their tour, we published everything to Google. Normally, it takes Google 24-48 hours to track this piece of content and then rank it. We were stunned to see that just after a few days, SOUTH was now ranking first for the keywords we put in it. We hadn’t done anything else for SOUTH in terms of SEO, so we pointed to the virtual tour as what helped us rank! Fast-forwarding to 2019, SOUTH still ranks first for a number of terms and keeps getting new business.

So How do Virtual Tours work?

It’s honestly not that complicated, nor do we even have our clients worry about it. All they need to do is have their business ready and beautiful to be captured by our photography equipment. Depending on the size of your business, most projects only take 1-2 hours to shoot on average.

However, here is the process, just so you have an idea ….

  1. Approve quote and project (15 minutes)
  2. Schedule shoot date (5 minutes)
  3. Prepare your business (1-2 hours)
    1. Clean interior, swept, organized, prepped, no people.
    2. Typically before or after business hours and with good lighting.
  4. Photographer arrival & set-up (15 minutes)
  5. Shoot the tour (1-2 hours)
  6. Edit and Tag (1-2 hours)
  7. Produce and publish the virtual tour (1-2)
  8. Promote & market (ongoing)

Essentially all you need to do as a business owner is approve the quote and contract, then have your business or location setup and ready for capturing content, just as you would hiring any other professional photographer.

Please have your location or venue ready by having it cleaned and organized, just as you would with a professional event or photoshoot. The entire photography capturing process depends on the size of your location. Any 1 building commercial space typically only takes 1-2 hours based on the square footage. The time necessary for the shoot is negligible, and dependent completely upon you being ready, and the size of your space.

To give you a time reference, as seen on the Matterport FAQ page, it takes a minimal amount of time to shoot.

On average, it takes about 38 minutes to scan a typical 2,000 square feet (186 meters squared) single-family home with the Matterport Pro2 3D Camera.

Anything visible to the camera (360 degrees) will be visible once published for customers to see — so please keep that in mind.

After we shoot the venue, it typically takes 2x that time to edit, tag, optimize, and publish it online. If you want it published to Google it’s an extra fee, and we will need your login. The same goes for YouTube and your website. If you want it live and published to those, we will need those logins and access, plus another small fee as well. We recommend doing everything you can to get maximum exposure on the virtual tour!

Why should my business get a virtual tour?

Alright, the million dollar question … “Why should my business get a virtual tour?”

To our team, and many photographers and marketers, the answer is simple: YOU NEED IT. You just need it. We would never pitch anything we don’t have and use ourselves, nor would we sell anything we don’t believe in wholeheartedly.

Statistically speaking, 90% of your competition doesn’t have one, and 60% of which don’t even know it exists.

Unless your business is online or never has customers inside (or is just downright unattractive), then we highly suggest a virtual tour. These valuable pieces of content will rank your business higher on Google, drive more website traffic, engage potential customers, and provide valuable visible context about your space.

We believe in our product so much, that if you don’t witness a 10% increase in traffic, impressions, or visibility, then we will refund your money!

It just works, and its beautiful …. And to be candid, in the grand scheme of things, it’s just not that expensive (yet). So, before this product gets more competitive, give us a call, or fill out our Free Quote Calculator online.
