Matterport is probably the name most people recognize when they think about 3D virtual tours. It has become one of the biggest platforms in the industry, particularly in real estate, construction, restoration, and property documentation.

This is where Matterport really shines.

The dollhouse view is also one of the platform’s most recognizable features. It gives viewers a unique visual overview of a property without requiring them to walk through the entire space.
For construction and renovation work, the combination of measurements, floor plans, scans, and other data can be extremely useful.

The dashboard is clean, modern, and relatively easy to navigate. Managing multiple spaces and clients is straightforward, and the platform feels polished.

This really depends on how you are using it.
For construction, restoration, renovation, and property documentation, I would give Matterport very high marks.
For pure marketing, however, I think there are other platforms that provide more flexibility at a lower cost.

CloudPano is one of my favorite platforms for marketing-focused virtual tours.

One of the reasons I like CloudPano is its focus on creating professional-looking virtual tours without making the process unnecessarily complicated.
It is particularly useful for real estate agents, businesses, event venues, universities, hotels, and other organizations that want an interactive 360 experience.

What makes 3DVista different is the sheer amount of customization available.
You can create much more than a basic 360 walkthrough. Depending on your project, you can build interactive product experiences, virtual showrooms, training environments, real estate tours, architectural presentations, and highly customized multimedia experiences.

One of the biggest differences is that 3DVista uses a one-time software purchase rather than relying entirely on a traditional monthly software subscription.
You do still need hosting if you want to host your tours through their service, but the software itself is purchased as a license.

I want to be completely transparent here: this is the platform I have personally used the least out of these five.
That does not mean it is a bad platform. It is simply newer and less established in my workflow compared with Matterport, CloudPano, and 3DVista.

Instead of relying exclusively on a traditional software subscription, there are options based around the number of tours you produce, along with hosting options.

If you need affordable 360 panorama hosting, Kuula is worth considering.
